According to a recent nationwide survey, the answer is yes.
Service for language learning Based on responses from 46 large American cities, Kansas City was ranked as the most impolite city in the nation by Preply. Using Preply’s measurements, the city ranks fifth for “nicest” in America.
Some of the topics included in the poll included the frequency with which respondents saw unpleasant behavior, their impressions of native vs transplanted citizens, and more. To rank cities from rudest to nicest, Preply calculated a rudeness score using these responses.
In a scale where 10 is the most impolite, Kansas City was rated 6.78. Compared to Kansas City, the following cities are nicer: Omaha, Nebraska (6.24), Minneapolis (6.35), San Diego (6.68), and Columbus, Ohio (6.70).
Among American cities, Miami ranks ninth with 9.88 rudeness index points, followed by Philadelphia with 9.12, Tampa with 8.88, Louisville with 8.72, and Oakland with 8.67.

Respondents across the country were most offended by those who didn’t care about them, who were too noisy in public areas, and who didn’t know how to respect themselves, according to the survey.

An additional topic that surfaced in the poll was driving. According to the survey, 60% of people have seen drivers in their city not following the speed limit or being careful when they are near pedestrians.
