An estimated 3.4 million people will travel through Houston airports over Christmas

The Houston Airport System estimates that between Thursday and January 6, 3.4 million people will pass through Houston airports.

With almost 207,000 passengers, Friday is regarded as the busiest day for travelers using the airports during the holiday season.

Travelers are advised by the airport system to arrive on Friday at least three hours early. Between 4 and 8:30 p.m., there will be a high volume of travelers due to peak departure and arrival demand.

The George Bush Intercontinental Airport’s new International Arrivals Curb, which has six operable lanes to speed traffic, is one example of the additional amenities that have been put in place to help reduce airport congestion.

The airport operator also reports that Bush Airport has quadrupled its customer service staff to 70 workers in Terminals A and D.

One of the most significant travel seasons of the year is the holiday season, and Houston Airports is providing a first-rate experience that prioritizes customers, according to a statement from Jim Szczesniak, director of aviation for the Houston Airports System.

During the holiday season, 755,000 travelers are anticipated at William P. Hobby Airport alone.

At Hobby Airport, TSA screening has been updated with a detecting device that allows travelers to take laptops and permitted liquids in their carry-on luggage. According to the airport system, there are now new information kiosks on both sides of security to help passengers navigate the airport.

Szczesniak stated, “We’re focused on the details that matter, streamlining traffic, enhancing amenities, and providing Houston-friendly hospitality at every touchpoint,” as millions of travelers get ready to connect with loved ones or go to new destinations throughout the world.

According to him, this dedication not only benefits our passengers but also has a major positive economic influence on the area.

Up to January 6, United Airlines anticipates more than 9.9 million passengers nationwide to fly with the airline, a 12% increase over previous year’s figures, with more than 500 daily flights operating out of Bush Airport.

It is anticipated that the 3.4 million visitors will bring in millions of dollars for local companies.

Travelers are advised by the airport system to use the TSA pre-check registration service located in Terminal C of the Bush Airport, arrive at domestic flights at least two hours early, and reserve parking spaces online.
