Stephenine Dixon, a Democratic operative, has joined Ras Baraka’s gubernatorial campaign as the regional political director for South Jersey.
Dixon, a native of South Jersey, most recently served as the Harris-Walz presidential campaign’s deputy Get Out the Vote director in Georgia. She served as the regional organizing director for Pete Buttigieg’s campaign in Iowa and the state director for his campaign in Alabama in 2020, when he was the mayor of South Bend.
We are excited to welcome Stephenine Dixon, a seasoned veteran of both national and New Jersey politics. According to a release from Baraka, “her decades of experience organizing for change and her deep roots in South Jersey will be invaluable as we build a movement that represents every corner of our state.” I’m excited to collaborate with her to make sure that every community is empowered and that every voice is heard.
Additionally, she served as a regional director for Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign of Stacey Abrams.
In the statement, she stated, “I’ve devoted my adult life to empowering underserved communities, and I’m honored to bring that passion to the Ras Baraka for Governor campaign.” Equity, fairness, and opportunity are the cornerstones of Mayor Baraka’s vision for New Jersey, and I’m prepared to work to bring that vision to South Jersey.
The hiring was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Baraka campaign on Friday.
