In Ocean County, which accounts for 12% of the state’s total GOP voter registration, Bill Spadea received a resounding endorsement for governor today from more than 50 Republican elected officials and party leaders.
Seven mayors—John Bacchione of Berkeley, William Cairns of Beachwood, Al Cirulli of Barnegat, Oscar Cradle of South Toms River, Joseph Hankins of Manchester, Bob Henken of Stafford, and Michael Reina of Jackson—as well as five GOP municipal chairs—James Blavat of Berkeley, Joseph Jubert of South Toms River, Cathy Lindenbaum of Brick, Councilwoman Roxie Conniff of Manchester, and Amber Myhre of Stafford—were among the Spadea backers announced today. Five Republican club presidents, including Ruthanne Scatturo (Brick), who is also the vice chair of the Ocean GOP, Frank Nicolato (Manchester), Jason Glogolich (South Toms River), Susan McCabe (Barnegat), and Councilman Ed Zakar (Beachwood), are also supporting Spadea.
“We are honored to support Bill Spadea, the incoming governor of New Jersey,” Bacchione added. Bill, the pro-life candidate, is the only Republican in the campaign with a tax-cutting plan that will lessen the burden of school taxes on our elderly residents and increase his chances of winning in November.
Ocean seems to be the exception, even though Spadea is not participating in county GOP conventions throughout the state.
Additionally, the following local elected officials endorsed the project: Douglas Bowens, Keith Buscio, James Byrnes, Sophia Gingrich, Thomas Grosse, Angela Guadagno, and Michael Signorile (Berkeley); Perry Albanese (Brick); James Vaccaro and Craig Wallis (Manchester); Lori Ann McGe, Barry Wieck, and Raymond Newman (Pine Beach); Bill Kosh, Thomas Rolzhausen, Kayla Rolzhausen, Sandy Ross, and Ed Murray (South Toms River); Justin Lamb (Toms River); Christopher DarConte, Steven Esposito, Sergio Fossa, Owen LaRocca, Lisa Mower, and Amy Otte (Stafford);
Former Representative Tom MacArthur, County Commissioners Jennifer Bacchione and Rob Arace, Assemblymen Brian Rumpf (R-Little Egg Harbor) and Greg Myhre (R-Stafford), Ocean County Republican Chairman George Gilmore, State Senator Carmen Amato (R-Berkeley), and Acting County Clerk John Catalano have already endorsed Spadea.
“There’s a reason Ocean County is regarded as the state’s most powerful Republican organization,” Spadea said. The success of candidates is based on the diligence and commitment of local leaders, such as those on this list.
