Mount Laurel officials back Sweeney for governor

The second-largest town in Burlington County has firmly backed former Senate President Steve Sweeney for the Democratic nomination for governor, with all five members of the Mount Laurel Township Council endorsing him ahead of the county convention on March 1.

Councilwomen Fozia and Silvia Catalan-Culnan, Councilmen Kareem Pritchett and Steve Steglik, and Mayor Nikitas Moustakas all provide their support.

“Regardless of where they live, whether they attended college, or how much money they make, every New Jerseyan deserves a seat at the table in Trenton when decisions are being made,” Sweeney said. Making sure all New Jersey families receive equitable treatment and have their voices heard is the main goal of my campaign for governor.

Rep. Herb Conaway, Jr. (D-Moorestown), State Sen. Troy Singleton (D-Delran), and Assemblywomen Andrea Katz (D-Chesterfield) and Carol Murphy (D-Mount Laurel) have already endorsed Sweeney.
