It was a terrible Saturday night for a 27-year-old man riding the Green Line light rail in downtown St. Paul and speaking on behalf of St. Paul Police, Sgt. Mike Ernster stated that at approximately 7:30 p.m., an adolescent passenger was shot in the stomach and robbed on a Green Line train near 12th and Robert Streets.

The wounded man was left behind when the attacker fled. The perpetrator of the Green Line rail heist was apprehended by Metro Transit and St. Paul police, in collaboration with K-9 units and the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter.
The investigation has been intensified because the suspect in the Green Line train heist escaped capture as of Saturday night.
The victim was treated by St. Paul Fire Department medical staff and was able to recover. At Regions Hospital, the man’s life was not in jeopardy despite his severe wounds.
