How much of a difference a day can make in the world of sports. The Texans were on the verge of a division title but would require some assistance, the Rockets were on their way to the final four of the in-season NBA Cup tournament, and Kyle Tucker was a key member of the Astros lineup as of Friday morning.

The Astrostrading Tuckerlater’s Friday trade to the Chicago Cubs for third baseman Isaac Paredes, pitcher Hayden Wesneski, and prospect Cam Smith, however, was the first domino to fall.

The Rockets then lost 111-96 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their NBA Cup semifinal on Saturday. The Thunder controlled the second half, scoring 70 points, while the Rockets led by one point at the break.

Additionally, the Texans defeated the Miami Dolphins 20–12 on Sunday to win the AFC South. That, along with a later-day loss to the Indianapolis Colts, gave the Texans another division title. Even though they only managed 181 yards of total offense, Houston managed to win because 17 of their 20 scores came from turnovers.

Jeff Balke, a journalist for the Houston Press and co-host of the Bleav in Astrospodcast, joins us in the audio above to talk about all three developments.
