Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick will serve as the State Senate’s new leader as the 89th Texas Legislature convenes today. For the past ten years, Patrick has served as the Lieutenant Governor. Although that is a considerable period, it is still significantly shorter than the 18 years that Bill Hobby spent from 1973 to 1991.
Bill Hobby: A Life in Journalism and Public Service is a new book on the philanthropist, journalist, and politician who is the namesake of the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs.
