Author, illustrator Erika Wurth to visit Kenton Co. Public Library February 27 to discuss debut novel White Horse

This month, Erika T. Wurth, a horror author and illustrator, will stop by the Kenton County Public Library to talk about her first book, White Horse.

White Horse has won numerous accolades and been selected as a Good Morning America Buzz Pick and an editor’s pick by the New York Times. Wurth’s work is renowned for its gripping tension and ties to Native American culture. Wurth, of Apache, Chickasaw, and Cherokee heritage, combines thrilling storytelling with stories essential to the urban native identity.

Wurth will discuss White Horse with the audience during the event, providing insightful commentary on her writing career. Wurth is currently writing on a new book, The Haunting of Room 904, and has also been featured in a narrative art installation and published in the Kenyon Review. Wurth’s diverse background provides a distinctive viewpoint on the horror genre, among other things.

In White Horse, Erika narrates the tale of Kari James, an Urban Native who enjoys dive bars, heavy metal, ripped jeans, and Stephen King books. Kari’s quest for the truth, which her family and law enforcement have long ignored, compels her to face her damaged relationships, memories of a childhood friend she lost, and her longing for the one thing she’s always desired but was never able to have.

On Thursday, February 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Kenton County Public Library Erlanger Branch, situated at 401 Kenton Lands Drive in Erlanger, will host a White Horse book discussion and author visit.
