MESA, Arizona – When the pilots of an airplane that took off from Arizona were searched, they were found to have a “large quantity of narcotics.”

Police in Oceanside say that both of the suspects lived in Oceanside.

Gabriel Breit, 21, and Troy Smith, 36, were both arrested for the strange event. The FAA is now looking into why the emergency landing happened on State Route 76 in the San Diego suburb, according to the story.

Flight Radar shows that the plane took off from Falcon Field in Mesa at 11:09 p.m. on September 25 and arrived in Oceanside at 1:37 a.m. on September 26.

It wasn’t clear where the two got the drugs.

Oceanside Police said they will give out more details as the probe goes on.
