This weekend, our very own Craig Cohen will present a screening of 1979’s The Muppet Movie as part of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston’s ongoing Movies Houstonians Love series.

Craig grew up surrounded by the Muppets, having grown up watching the Muppet Show and The Muppet on Sesame Street. He also naturally watched the Muppet movies in the 1980s.

In the aforementioned audio, Craig chats with Joshua Zinn, the producer of Houston Matter, about some of his best recollections, such as the time he spoke with Kermit the Frog, a Sesame Street correspondent, about a hurricane that threatened the fine people of Sesame Street.

Craig believes that The Muppet Movie honors the creative genius of Jim Henson and Frank Oz, who created a number of iconic figures in American society during the 1970s and 1980s.

Craig Cohen’s “The Muppet Movie” will be shown at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston on Saturday, January 11 at 7 p.m.
