According to authorities, a person was found dead at a Second Ward bus stop in Houston early on Monday morning as a result of the chilly weather.
The individual was discovered close to Canal Street at a bus stop located at 6700 N. Cesar Chavez. At 7:29 a.m., authorities verified the deceased.
According to Metropolitan Transit Authority spokeswoman Lester Gretsch, the event is still being investigated and no other information could be verified at this time.
Overnight, when an Arctic freeze crept into southeast Texas, local temperatures dropped into the low 30s. Temperatures dropped as low as 25 degrees in a few Houston areas to the north and northwest.
