Post Malone gives $20,000 holiday tip to Houston bartender

On the night before Christmas, Houston bartender Renee Brown was working the evening shift when musician Post Malone gave her a $20,000 tip as a holiday surprise.

The night before his halftime show with Beyonc during the Houston Texans’ Christmas Day game at NRG Stadium, Austin Richard Post, better known by his stage as Post Malone, was in Houston on Christmas Eve. The Dallas-based rapper visited The Railyard pub, which is close to Interstate 610 and Memorial Park, while he was in town.

Brown claimed she had been dreading the holiday shift and never could have imagined such a kind gift. She initially shared the news on Instagram.

“I was so sad I had to leave [my] baby girl to go to work oblivious that God would send me a Christmas miracle,” Brown wrote on social media. “This is without a doubt the most approachable, modest star I’ve ever met. My life was transformed by him.

Later, Brown informed Houston Public Media that she had been struggling to manage two jobs and take care of her child during the past year.

“It kind of felt like a fever dream for the first few days,” she recalled. “It meant a lot to me because this year has been extremely difficult. I had a little breathing room because of this. The following shift I worked was like any other. I have amazing customers at my bar who made sure not to make a big deal out of it, but the grind never ends. I adore them a great deal.
