Three firefighters injured in Houston apartment complex blaze Tuesday morning, officials said

Early on Tuesday morning, three firemen were hurt fighting a fire in a southeast Houston apartment complex.

Around 5:35 a.m., Houston Fire Department personnel were sent to an apartment complex in the 4800 block of Jarmese Street after receiving reports of persons trapped in a fire. Fire Department spokeswoman Brent Taylor stated on Tuesday.

According to Taylor, personnel conducting a preliminary search called a MAYDAY and were removed from the premises within minutes of their arrival.

Three firefighters with various levels of burn injuries were taken to Memorial Hermann at the Texas Medical Center.

A news release states that at 9:30 a.m., Mayor John Whitmire, Fire Chief Thomas Mu oz, and Local 341 President Marty Lancton would give an update on their situation.
