As part of DaCamera’s Rising Jazz Stars series, jazz singer Vanisha Gould will play two gigs at Houston’s Eldorado Ballroom on Sunday, January 12.
The song “Demure” from Gould’s most recent album, “She’s Not Shiny, She’s Not Smooth,” was listed as one of the 124 Best Songs of 2024 by NPR. As the title suggests, Gould has discovered how to accept her flaws, which she claims has been very helpful in her work as a performer.
Gould discusses her music, how she came up with the album’s title, and what her career and music show about accepting flaws and unforeseen detours in an interview with Houston Matters producer Michael Hagerty.
