Next month will mark the 26th year of the Free Museum Sacramento event, which lets people learn about local history for free.
The event’s website says that for the 26th year in a row, museums in the Sacramento area will work together to offer a free museum experience. A free two-day event called “Museum Weekend” is planned for March 2-3 this year at more than 20 museums in the greater Sacramento area.
Are California’s gold mines still open for business?
The event page says that even though it’s free, you need to buy tickets ahead of time because space is limited. Availability may change from museum to museum.
To get in for free, all people must pre-register, otherwise regular admission fees will apply, the Sacramento Area Museums said.
KTXL FOX40, Sacramento Regional Transit, Outward, and Sacramento 365 all help make Free Museum Sacramento possible. Visit www.sacmuseums.org to buy tickets or find out more.
